Australia Yet to Find a Wicket-Keeper Batsman Before T20 World Cup 2021, Says Ricky Ponting
The T20 World Cup is knocking on the door. Many speculations have already started about the World Cup. According to many, Australia is one of the contenders for the title in this year’s World Cup. However, former Aussie batsman Ricky Ponting has a different comment about the Australian team as he says, Australia is yet to find a good wicket-keeper batsman before the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 that could make the team suffer.
Before the start of the T20 World Cup 2021, World Cup-winning captain Ricky Ponting thinks Australia will suffer at the end of the match as the team does not have a finisher. Besides, the lack of hard-hitter wicket-keeper-batsman is also a weakness of the team, he said.
Ponting thinks that if they find a batsman who can come down to the end and make quick runs and wicketkeeping, it will be a great advantage for the team.
Regarding the team finisher, the former captain said, “The absence of the team finisher will hurt us. It’s a place where you have to get down and run fast in a short time. ‘ He added, ‘Dhoni always did well in such a place. Besides, the current Hardik and Kieron Pollard are also successful for their respective countries or IPL.
