Dav Whatmore Resigned From Nepal Cricket
Dave Whatmore has stepped down as head coach of the Nepal cricket team. The head coach of Nepal Cricket team Dav Whatmore reportedly resigned due to family reasons. Dave Whatmore has also submitted his resignation letter to the Nepal Cricket Association.
The League Two Series of the ICC Cricket World Cup in Oman in September this year will be his last assignment for Nepal. He submitted his resignation letter to the Nepal Cricket Association on Friday (August 26th). In his resignation letter, he requested not to keep him in charge after September 19.
The Nepal Cricket Association confirmed in a statement on Saturday (August 26th) that Dave Whatmore was not in charge. He was appointed as the head coach in December 2020.
Nepal was without a coach for almost a year after the resignation of Umesh Patwal. Whatmore was later brought in by the Nepal Cricket Association. He signed a one-year contract earlier this year.
Although international cricket was not successful, Dave Whatmore was quite successful in domestic cricket. Although he said goodbye to professional cricket, he was involved in cricket as a coach. He was the head coach of countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe. Under him, Sri Lanka won the World Cup in 1998.
Apart from the national team, he was also in charge of various state teams in India and the under-19 team. India won the Under-19 World Cup under him in 2006.
