BAN vs NZ 2021: Finn Allen Tests Positive for Coronavirus in Dhaka
The New Zealand cricket team has set foot on Bangladeshi soil to play a five-match T20 series. Kiwi batsman Finn Allen tests positive for coronavirus. Cricket New Zealand confirmed the matter on Twitter, New Zealand batsmen Finn Allen’s corona test result was positive after reaching Dhaka.
Finn Allen came to Bangladesh directly after playing The Hundred Tournament in England. He passed all the Corona Tests in the 48 hours before coming to Dhaka. Cricket New Zealand has said that Corona was attacked after coming to Bangladesh.
Colin de Grandhome and Finn Allen arrived in Bangladesh from England on Friday (August 20). Since then the two of them have been in isolation. Cricket New Zealand confirmed Allen’s covid positive on Tuesday (August 24). He has mild symptoms and has received two doses of the vaccine, they said.
Finn Allen is currently undergoing treatment under the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). He also said that Cricket New Zealand is in regular contact with the BCB.
New Zealand team manager Mike Sandal said the BCB was providing the highest medical care to Allen. “It’s really unfortunate for Finn, he is ok for now. Hopefully, he will recover quickly, his test will be negative and he will be released soon.
As per the schedule, a 21-member Kiwi squad set foot on Bangladeshi soil on Tuesday afternoon. They come to Bangladesh from Auckland via Singapore. New Zealand and Bangladesh will be in the hotel prisoner quarantine for three days before the start of the five-match T20 series.
The first match of the five-match series will be held on September 1 this year. The remaining matches will be held on September 3, 5, 6, and 10 respectively. All the matches will be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
