Rachin Ravindra to Make his Debut for New Zealand

New Zealand Tour of Bangladesh 2021: Rachin Ravindra to Make his Debut for New Zealand

Rachin Ravindra has been called up to the New Zealand squad in a different format before but has not made his debut. The young all-rounder, who got a place in the T20 squad for the Bangladesh tour, is waiting for his international debut. This is not the first time in Bangladesh, he came to play the World Cup for the youth team five years ago.

If you get a chance to play, you will play international cricket for the first time. There are stars like Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mustafizur Rahman in the opposition camp. 21-year-old Rachin Ravindra is feeling the urge to learn from them.

Ravindra, who has played 27 first-class matches, 12 List A matches, and 22 Twenty20 matches, said, “They (Bangladesh) have recently won the series 4-1 against Australia. They have world-class cricketers like Shakib, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur, Mustafiz. They have some really great cricketers. We can also learn from them and understand what they do in their own condition. I hope they will learn in their country and use it in our game. ‘

Rachin, who is awaiting his debut, wants to contribute to the team’s victory if given the chance. In that case, he does not see the option of staying mentally strong to win the team. He thinks that if New Zealand has to win by 8-10 runs in the over, it will be 8 in Bangladesh.

Rachin Ravindra said, ‘It is always great to be able to play for New Zealand. It would be incredible if the debut. But hopefully, we will win and learn as a team. So we have to move forward every day. If I play, I want to contribute to the price and win the team.

‘Of course, we have to be mentally tough. If you can make 6 runs in the over, it is possible to get good results here. But if you want to do well with the spinners in New Zealand, you have to score 8 to 10 runs in the over.

The five-match T20 series will start on September 1 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The remaining 4 matches of the series will be played on September 3, 5, 6, and 10. All matches will start at 4 pm Bangladesh time. Bangladesh has announced the squad for the T20I series against New Zealand.
