IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore Picks Wanidu Hasaranga in their Squad
Sri Lanka’s leg-spinning all-rounder Wanidu Hasaranga was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL 2021. The Bangalore franchise has signed Hasaranga as a replacement for Aussie spinner Adam Zampa for the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Royal Challengers Bangalore have also selected Dushmantha Chamira as the second Sri Lankan. The two Sri Lankan bowlers were joined by Singapore’s Tim David.
Sri Lankan bowlers Vanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chamira, and Singapore’s David have signed contracts to play in the rest of the 2021 IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s franchise said in a statement.
In the last T20 of the series against India, Wanidu Hasaranga became the hero with the ball. He took 9 wickets in 4 overs and took 4 wickets alone. Which is the best bowling figure of his career. He became the best player of the series with 6 wickets in the series. And that is why the Sri Lankan star spinner has risen to number 2 in the list of ICC T20 bowlers.
Wanidu Hasaranga got big good news after his impressive performance against India. Fast bowler Dushmantha Chamira also got lucky with Hasaranga. For the first time, these two Sri Lankan cricketers will play on the IPL stage.
The rest of the IPL, which was cut in half due to Corona, is starting in the UAE before the World Cup. The rest of the IPL will start from September 19. The final will be played on October 15.
