South Africa Squad for T20 World Cup 2021 Announced

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced a 15-member squad ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021. Former captain Faf du Plessis and leg-spinner Imran Tahir did not get a chance in the team. Temba Bavuma is the captain.

Former Proteas captain Faf du Plessis said goodbye to Test cricket in February this year. However, he is playing limited-overs cricket. However, CSA did not give him a place in the team. Apart from him, leg-spinner Imran Tahir and pacer Chris Morris have also been dropped from T20 World Cup 2021.

Janeman Malan has been in great form lately. However, Cricket South Africa did not include him in the squad. The South African team is currently on a tour of Sri Lanka. Almost everyone in the T20 squad is in this team for this tour. The Proteas selectors did not include senior cricketers in the squad for the future.

Captain Temba Babuma has been ruled out of the tour of Sri Lanka due to a finger injury. Also, pacer Lungi Engidi is not in the squad for the tour of Sri Lanka due to personal reasons. However, they will be on the World Cup team.
