West Indies Squad for T20 World Cup 2021 Announced

Cricket West Indies have announced their squad for this year’s T20 World Cup 2021. However, experienced all-rounder Jason Holder and spinner Sunil Narine did not get a place in the team. Fast bowler Ravi Rampal has returned to the national team after a long six years.

The last time fast bowler Ravi Rampal played T20 for the national team was in 2015. From then on, he was not even close to the national team. In the ongoing Caribbean League (CPL) he took 18 wickets in 6 matches at an average of 6.20. He returned to the national team after six years due to his great performance in the CPL.

Kieron Pollard will captain the West Indies in T20 World Cup 2021. His assistant will be wicketkeeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran. Sunil Narine last played for the national team in 2019. However, even though he has been performing regularly in the franchise league since then, he has always been neglected in the national team. He has also been neglected in the World Cup.

Also, former Caribbean Test captain Jason Holder did not get a chance in the World Cup squad. However, he will be the tour companion of the World Cup team as a standby. Roston Chase got a place in the national team after a great performance in the CPL. However, he is still waiting for his debut in T20 cricket.
