Nepal and Oman Secure Place in T20 World Cup 2024

Both Nepal and Oman won their semi-finals at the Asia region qualifiers and secured a place in the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup.

On Friday, Oman beat Bahrain by ten wickets, and Nepal beat the UAE by eight runs. Aqib Ilyas was in charge of Oman’s bowling attack. He took four wickets during the game, which helped Oman hold Bahrain to 106 runs for 9 in the first half.

The first two batters for Oman, Kashyap Prajapati and Pratik Athavale, worked together very well in the second inning and did the job with just under six overs to spare.

Spin bowlers Kushal Malla and Sandeep Lamichhane held UAE to 134 runs for nine wickets for Nepal. At the start of the game, Vriitya Aravind hit fifty to help UAE. However, Nepal’s starter Aasif Sheikh hit 64 runs without being out to seal the win against UAE.

The 18 teams that will be going to the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the US have now sealed their places. At the Africa qualifier, which ends at the end of the month, the last two spots will be chosen.

The USA and the West Indies have already confirmed their spots in the event because they are hosting it. Aside from that, Australia, England, India, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka made it because they were the top eight teams in the 2022 tournament.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh were the next two best-ranked teams in the event, so they were sure to make it. From the Europe group, Ireland and Scotland also made the cut.

On the other hand, Papua New Guinea came from the East Asia-Pacific region and Canada came from the Americas region.
